| Does God want expiation after sins are forgiven? When King David repented of his sin, Nathan told him, "The Lord on his part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die. But since you have utterly spurned the Lord by this deed, the child born to you must surely die" (2 Samuel 12:14). Having sin forgiven is not the same thing as having the temporal punishment for it forgiven. |
