She includes devotions to God the Father, Jesus, and of course, Mary and Joseph. Devout activities should accompany prayers for a happy death. The book provides a lengthy list of holy practices for living a saintly life, such as forgiving others for wrongs done against you. Prayers for Eternal Life is a gentle introduction to the doctrine of Purgatory and the plight of the holy souls. Many regard Purgatory negatively and prefer to avoid the subject altogether. Tassone uses positive imagery not to download play the seriousness of the subject, but to encourage devotions to help the holy souls out of love for them. After all, they are our brothers and sisters. |
